This beautiful P51-A Mustang was billed as the “ultimate home-built” at the 2006 EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh. Gerry Beck built it from the original plans. The plane was booked for its first movie appearance before it was even completed! That starring “role” is responsible for the interesting paint job and the nose art, calling it “Precious Metal”. The RTP’s Mustang will look similar to this when it is completed (but without the green paint job!).
