When you are enroute to where you plan to do the shoot, it's a good time to shoot some test shots and get an idea of how slow you need to have your shutter speed. I start out at about 250th of a second and adjust from there. You can see there isn't much blur on the props here. It was shot at 320th. Photogs are usually striving for that full-arc image, which would require about an 80th of a sec. But those only work if the light is hitting the prop directly. At this angle, it would make the prop disappear.
