Looking down into a hole the size of a half dozen football fields, we spied the real deal-- the orange is molten lava. Awesome. We humans occupy such a thin layer of this planet, from the deepest ocean chasm, to reaches of the upper atmosphere, is but a tiny fraction of this place called Earth.
