Friend and fellow aerobatics pilot Chandy Clanton had lost her life on Friday, practising for the airshow. I wish I had an image to show you of her flying, but she crashed a few hours before we got to Tarkio. It was a terrible blow to everyone. But here we were, back in the air, the very next day, gaining altitude. It seems to be an unwritten law of aviation that you must go on, pick up the torch, and carry it aloft.

You don't forget, you never forget, but you honor the aviator by flying.
