This aircraft began service on January 7th, 1940. It spent most of the next few years on its center float, training pilots at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. From there it went to Florida, then back to Norfolk , VA for re-engineering, and finally ended its service back in Annapolis in 1959. It was one of the last fifteen N3Ns to be taken out of service.
