Tim flew the Minnesota CAF's Harvard all around Ruff Stuff, so I could get images from a lot of different angles. This image clearly shows the polished aluminum disk on the side of the engine that is used for seeing the reflection of the nose wheel and whether it's down into proper position. Something tells me this feature was earned the hard way during WWII training.
