These images could not have been achieved without the incredible flying skills of cameraship pilot, Scott Romuld, seen here with me in front of Red Nose, his AT-6. Scott is one of the premier cameraship pilots in the country, and has been flying formation for many years. It occurred to me that I might be leading folks to think that they should get together with pilot friends and try doing this sort of thing themselves. To paraphrase pilot Doug Rozendaal, another very experienced cameraship pilot- "Flying 60-year-old warbirds is dangerous, flying them in formation is more dangerous still, flying them in formation with a cameraman creating distractions is about as dangerous as it gets." Never try this without formation-rated pilots, and never ask your pilots to do anything they are not comfortable with. Better yet, just enjoy my work and stay safe.
