At last it was my turn in the tail! I slipped on the belt, supplied by fellow shooter Arnold Greenwell (thanks, Arnold!), and shuffled back out to the open tail. I made sure to latch the clip and tug on it for good measure. I didn't have long to wait before John Lane and Scat VII swung into view. The trick is to slow the shutter down enough to get that fantastic full arc. But if you go too slow, things start to blur. This image didn't turn out well, because of the dizzying blur of the background. Still, it gives you a sense of the thrill of having a P-51 ripping through the air just behind you.
